Our offices overlook Healdsburg’s historic town plaza from behind the high arched windows of a renovated turn of the century banking hall.

    We view the creation of architecture as a highly collaborative process involving the client, contractor, users, neighbors and the surrounding community.

    We feel that good architecture is responsive. Not static objects, but evolving environments that age gracefully and grow more beautiful and finely tuned to their users and uses in the process.

    We feel that good architecture is contextual. Its design and character should be rooted in the specifics of its site taking into consideration climate, orientation, history, local patterns and traditions. Each project should reach out to its neighbors to create a collective whole greater than the sum of its parts.

    We feel that good architecture is responsible. Each project should be designed, detailed and constructed to maximize resource efficiency, minimize energy dependence and ensure a long life without excessive maintenance.

    We feel that good architecture is legible. It should tell a good story to its users and passers by. It should be filled with meaning, rhythm, pattern, humor and lyrical beauty.

    Olive Grove Apartments - Santa Rosa

    Olive groveOlive Grove is a 128 unit affordable apartment project on a 4.33 acre rectangular site located between an existing school and shopping center in Santa Rosa. The complex consists of three story buildings containing townhouses over flats clustered around a central community facility. The buildings have tuck-under garages containing 113 garage spaces. The remaining 73 spaces are in open lots. All of the houses have private, ground level entries. Special care was taken to stack plumbing, party and bearing walls for affordability and ease of construction. The central community building contains meeting rooms, offices, a common kitchen and a laundry facility grouped around a play area for younger children. The project was completed in early 2007.

    Monte Vista Apartments - Santa Rosa

    MonteVistaMonte Vista is a 107unit affordable apartment project on a 3.91acre triangular site in northwestern Santa Rosa. The complex consists of clusters of three story buildings containing townhouses over flats. Half of the buildings have tuck-under garages (76 spaces). The remaining 97 parking spaces are in open lots. All of the houses have private, ground level front doors. All have a minimum of two exterior walls for natural lighting and cross ventilation. Special care was taken to stack plumbing, party and bearing walls for affordability and ease of construction. A central community building contains meeting rooms, offices, a common kitchen and a laundry facility grouped around a play area for younger children. The project is currently under construction and slated for completion in early fall of 2007.

    Jennings CourtJenningsJennings Court is a 55 unit HUD financed senior apartment facility located on a one acre corner site in Santa Rosa. The building is three stories high and contains a mix of one bedroom flats and a two bedroom managers apartment surrounding a large central courtyard. Apartments are elevator accessed by way of either covered open air walkways or double loaded corridors. All apartments have private decks or patios. There is a full complement of interior and exterior community facilities: lobby, reception, offices, a large community room with a common kitchen, a lounge, laundry facilities on Jenningseach floor and an upper level party room with outdoor terrace. An interior drive connects the two adjacent streets and provides convenient entry drop off as well access to 44 open parking spaces.     Esprit ParkThe Esprit project is a mixed use urban infill project on 1.967 acres of land in San Francisco’s DogPatch District. The project involves the restoration and adaptive reuse of two brick and timber warehouse buildings dating from the early 20th Century. The northern end of the site will contain two 5 story steel frame residential buildings grouped around a landscaped courtyard constructed over a two level subterranean concrete parking garage. The project will contain 5.5K sf office, 800 sf fitness center, and 142 residential condominiums.

    Moreland SantaClaraMoreland is a 430 unit apartment project located on a 5.42 acre rectangular site at the entrance to the Rivermark subdivision in Santa Clara. The project consists of three four story wood frame buildings and two eight story steel frame buildings clustered around an extensive recreation complex and leasing facility.
